That’s a Bad Idea Sketches
Hey! It’s Coop. Glad you stopped by!
“Movies are my life.”
At age 5, I said that to my grandmother. She always reminds me but I never forget because it’s all I can think about. Whether I was at school, home or on the baseball field I couldn’t get the thought of movies out of my mind and I still can’t. It’s all I wanted to do and everything I wanted to be a part of. The second I could turn on the camcorder myself, I was doing all I could to get in front of the camera and tell a story in the living room or the backyard. “Make believe” was the most exciting game to play with friends. I found characters in movies and shows so interesting and they gave me such a rush, I wanted to be able to create my own characters and be the spy or superhero or the villain. From there on, I was dedicated to acting.
In Seattle I was challenged in finding people who were just as passionate as me to create content. I met director Colton Van Til who I created narrative films with throughout high school. Colton went on to write and direct Aberdeen with Cloudstar Pictures in 2018 where I played the lead’s struggling brother, Connor. After high school, I moved to Los Angeles and co-created both the web-series Roommates and the sketch comedy show That’s a Bad Idea with my best friend/creative partner Curry Barker. The pandemic scared us all but I was fortunate enough to book the lead role in #MyCorona — a pandemic set rom-com— directed by Phil Gorn which can be seen on Amazon. In 2022 I was cast in Storyboard Entertainment’s family adventure film Treasure Trackers which is set to release through Warner Bros in 2024. In the meantime That’s a Bad Idea has gained over 1 million followers and dozens of viral hits across Tik Tok, Instagram and YouTube. You may have seen the Barbie sketch which garnered over 100 millions views! We also have created ads for several brands including Supercuts, Samuel Adams Beer, Pair of Thieves and more!
